So I got a bigger master cylinder from an Audi, adjusted the shaft length with help from dubstarmk2, cheers Al. I welded another steel piece along the back of the bracing bar to stop it flexing and made the rod fatter. Then I cleaned all the linkages, replaced the washers and cleaned everything. Works great now, no flex and instant response. On the bench at least!

Its going in the car soon, closely followed by the engine.

    What smells fishy again Loon.
Whats with the Lolipop colours ?
Beneton maybe.or no black spray cans at you locak m/10.
There is a simple way of using early shafts with 100 mm inners but you have already changed them.
That colour looks good (the oak that is)

Always fishy goings on in my garage mate
Just like a bit of colour to complement the chrome and black of my engine. They are the only two acessory colours. I like the blue and am undecided on the light green.
They look good against the oak.
I`m 90% happy with the Oak Green, and the guys owe me a free touch up when its back together. Then it`ll be 100%. Its a great colour looks sparkling in sunlight and deep and emerald in shadow.

I reckon it`ll be driving round by christmas. It`ll be making noises in a few weeks. Thanks for the support for the lollipop colours, you only see the odd bit of it and it brightens up the engine bay. Yes may do hose braiding, but not high on my list of priorities.

    Update Late November 2005

OK Christmas is coming up and the car is not making noises.
I have had the suspension in and out a few times and messed around with fuel lines. The back is now finally on the floor and I`m happy with the ride height. The front is currently getting brakes and then will be on the floor too. The engine is next to the car nearly ready to go in. 9A 16v. and my KR Cams arrived early, so that should give it the required kick.

Hopefully I will get some time soon to Bolt the motor in and then it`ll start to look like a car again.

Pics as soon as I have something to show you. Still hopeful for the VW nationals at Easter.

Front brakes are done, Mk2 Calipers and Vented Disks on Mk1 1983 hubs.

Put the mags on it and its a rolling shell. Sits a bit high at the front, but sticking the engine in should fix that.

Currently sidetracked on other projects, but will be spending some time on the Mk1 soon.
