Good work! Glad to hear you like the ride height of the suspension! It will be great to see it on the road soon!
ok, so i bought myself a 78 GLS about 6months ago, havent been able to do much so far (lack of money) but recently, thanks to my birthday, i have started getting stuff done, before that i spent my time just cleaning it out, and replacing little things. i replaced the chrome bumpers, with some plastics. i had to repair a few little problems (door handles coming off etc)
buuuut finally yesterday i made a real proper change! i replaced my standard suspension with, a pair of koni adjustables in the rear, and some monroe gas shocks with lowered sports springs on the rear (all taken off TassieGTi's silver GTi) i love them, so low, and stiff yesterday i also began to clean my carb. i purchased a webber (off a 2L escort, with golf manifold), i started cleaning it yesterday, getting ready to throw it in. all i need to do is fabricate and air box with a pipe off it, i will run that pipe from the airbox to down behind the headlights, where it will probably hit my k&n pod. just gotta wait till i get back to school to fabricate the box. well thats about it for this very moment, but i will post some pics very shortly!

Don't know if it's currently true (lots of new cars on the road here, most of them japcrap and korean copies of japcrap) but Tassie always had the oldest car fleet in Oz. Might explain why there are so many Mk1s. Also, Tassies look after their cars so they last. Went to Burnie again today and saw a beautiful, yellow '76 Passat and a Seat Cordoba.
sweet dude thats awesome great to see you finally found a carby bro!!!
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life
There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it

Tassies Definantly A Golf Mecha although there may not be that many people that are actually so int o mk1 golfs that they build them in tassie, there are certainly a lot of people who drive them. I was in sandy bay last night and in the space of 10 mins i saw 6!!!! mk1 golfs crazy stuff
ok more news.....almost got the carb in. about to start work on replacing a disc and pads. just built a strut brace bar, needs a tiiiiiiny little bit more bend to clear the engine, im picking up some new seats, from a mk3 (thanks golfwise/tassiegti ) things are starting to come together, although very slowly (thanks too school)
Working hard at school gets you a better job which pays more moolah which to spend on Golfs.
Very exciting el_foolio, it has been a while since I built a car. They can be so frustrating yet rewarding on finishing.
Post some pics mate so we can see.
yep, i am actually looking for an apprenticeship, so im leaving school. i was offered one as a plumber, and its a lasting offer that i can take whenever. so im with work and training and lookin for a apprenticeship as a sparky. if i cant get it i can always be a plumber but yes, soon ill have more money for golfs cant wait.
building cars is very frustrating, but its worth it, and ill post some pics as soon as i can get my hands on a digital camera
