    My Golf- Progress Report

ok, so i bought myself a 78 GLS about 6months ago, havent been able to do much so far (lack of money) but recently, thanks to my birthday, i have started getting stuff done, before that i spent my time just cleaning it out, and replacing little things. i replaced the chrome bumpers, with some plastics. i had to repair a few little problems (door handles coming off etc)
buuuut finally yesterday i made a real proper change! i replaced my standard suspension with, a pair of koni adjustables in the rear, and some monroe gas shocks with lowered sports springs on the rear (all taken off TassieGTi's silver GTi) i love them, so low, and stiff yesterday i also began to clean my carb. i purchased a webber (off a 2L escort, with golf manifold), i started cleaning it yesterday, getting ready to throw it in. all i need to do is fabricate and air box with a pipe off it, i will run that pipe from the airbox to down behind the headlights, where it will probably hit my k&n pod. just gotta wait till i get back to school to fabricate the box. well thats about it for this very moment, but i will post some pics very shortly!

    Olddddd

Don't know if it's currently true (lots of new cars on the road here, most of them japcrap and korean copies of japcrap) but Tassie always had the oldest car fleet in Oz. Might explain why there are so many Mk1s. Also, Tassies look after their cars so they last. Went to Burnie again today and saw a beautiful, yellow '76 Passat and a Seat Cordoba.

Working hard at school gets you a better job which pays more moolah which to spend on Golfs.

Very exciting el_foolio, it has been a while since I built a car. They can be so frustrating yet rewarding on finishing.

Post some pics mate so we can see.

building cars is very frustrating, but its worth it, and ill post some pics as soon as i can get my hands on a digital camera
