    my crapy 1978 mk1 GLD

    ^^^^started thread in newbies. thought i might graduate to the mk1 section

    basically i've landed my self a cheap mk1 that needs alot of tlc. i've never tackled body work like this before so bare with me. and excuse my lack of skill and knowledge. i may ask some stupid questions, but thats learning!

    that's a mad pchop.

    I'd love to leave that paint work just as is, and run it low and slow, that'd be heaps cool!

    Don't worry about asking silly questions, we all do at one stage, and well, have to learn somehow.

    My only tip at this time is use a high quality rust converter and apply that properly. I didn't and after a few months, my new paint is not exactly pristine any more.

    i'll get a pick of the bonnet and roof tomorrow and tell me if i should still keep it rat! there's a large section of rust in the A pillar that needs to be fixed if it's ever going to get back on the road. i freakin love the bucket!
    this is going to be ratty but i still need to fix a few things up.


    i'm putting a call in to neale wheels tomorrow to look into getting these rims widened. i'm thinking powder coated white or the colour in the pics.... see how much it's going to cost first

    try oz wheels (pete) in st mary's too... neale wheels were kinda wankerish to me when i went to widen centrebores for some steelies i had many moons ago... (6 months?) oz wheels did ray ray's and they're swweeeetttt. about 150 per corner..
