HAHA that's hilarious. I didn't realise there were so many VR6 dealers on here. It was my observation people had been paying $6K+. If the guy who posted that thread had been the seller I'd have kept quiet LOL

Golly I follow the VR6 market and if I'd seen one for 6G I would have jumped at it.We all hear stories of people picking up bargains but seldom see the proof.
I still believe in Santa too.
My VR6 is a far superior car to my crappy old mk2 GTI .

Well with that admission it didn't have much to compete with. Maybe a mk2 that wasn't thrashed would have been stiffer competition...

I consider I'm well qualified to make a comparison My mk2 GTI happens to be immaculate and well maintained by myself, you can't tell me a manufacturer as big as VAG doesn't improve its cars as their models progress.
Its age speaks for itself early 80s technology vs 90s technologies.
    Seats ,dash , drive train.
Put the two models on the forecourt of a top notch car dealer and I know which one the public would go for,and thats what we are talking about here.
From an enthusiasts point of view we own them, my mk2 hasn't even got power steering.I even sold a mk1 recently for $10g and the owner pestered me to buy it ,he actually drives a VR6 as a daily driver.
So when is a mk1 worth more than a VR6 in the scheme of things.
You will always have your opinion so enjoy that , even if it is negative to the product.
So far I like all the model Golfs VW have produced and I'm not just stuck on the one.

Golfman that would give me an unfair advantage for this to be settled on the track.

now now then....Golfwises MK2 GTi is actually identical to yours (grey 2 door) robin.....and is powered by a fresh 2L motor........but even then it is no match for a VR6 and that's from experience on the track!
