You should have a paint code sticker on the boot floor. It will be under the false floor on the passanger side.

I had a mint 78 model years ago that was Mars red.
I will have to dig out my brochures.
Par 6 Golf GTI. Coilovers, BBS CH Wheels, APR'd
Caddy van 05/07 (colourcoded) (BRIGHT! orange!) coilovers, Konis 18in. wheels, Oettinger tuned
what that saying... "assumption is the mother of all **** ups"
emailed the seller she wasn't much help on confirming what colour the car is and wasn't sure if the car had been resprayed or not, I'm guessing since it doesn't really look like any standard colour and the sticker which would tell me what colour it is is gone it probably was at one stage.
On top of that after washing it last night before putting it under wraps I found 4-5 more rust spots
any obvious tell tale signs I can look for that will give away a respray?
Tear up the carpets and have a look at the difference should be well noticable I think!
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
agree with both, also, take the rear cards in the boot off and have a look inside
im still going with Mars red but has changed colour due to the Aussie sun
