    MK4 Polo Wiring + Audi A4 1.8T Engine Loom

The MK4 Polo Wiring will be for the entire vehicle, lights, dash, etc.. and the Audi A4 Engine Loom will be for only the engine..

Anyone know if its possible to put these two wiring looms together? Easy?

There is a UK company that will build you a loom for any VW combination for your car. You just tell them what you are building and they will charge you lots of money to build it. With the strength of the Aussie dollar being so good it might be a viable option. Can't remember who they are but someone else on this forum should have a better memory than me.CheersPaul

If I took both looms to an auto electrician wouldn't they be able to do it here? Cheaper?

You probably could, depends on how good they are and how much. Have you spoken to Matt at Camden GTI to see who he recommends?

It's not a difficult job. If there's any auto elec around that can't splice two looms together, then they need to be closed down!! It's a time thing, not a skill thing, and only involves tracing wires - you don't even need a wiring diagram (though, it does make things easier).

You mentioned in your PMs that you want to run the Polo 6N dash: the easiest way to do this is to just use the full loom from the 20v and put the 20v clocks into the 6N dash. It saves a lot of frigging around and also maintains the original odometer reading etc.

It all comes down to how many console dash functions you want to maintain (heater, demister, radio etc), as this is where the time is. Ditch all this crap and you can wire it up neatly to run in a day, provided you use the 20v fusebox and a mechanical-throttled motor.

There is a guy in the UK called Rubjohnny, he does allsorts of looms and has allsorts of data etc for most VW engine swaps and conversions.
He can sort out a loom for you, or at least point you in the right direction.
He can be found on the Mk1 Golf Owners club and Club GTI.
You can E Mail him to see if he can assist rubjonny@hotmail.com

here is a link to some of his stuff, very useful indeed
