mk3 inner joints fit on cabby drive shafts?

I was planing to use my cabby drive shafts on the 02a tranny and was under impression that they are 100mm just to find out that some cabby's come with 90mm and some with 100mm. Unfortunately my cabby has 90mm, so is possible to run mk3 100mm inner joints on them? I already have them and will be the cheapest option if possible. It looks like they are fitted the same way and the shaft is the same size.
Looks straight forward. Just checking so i don't get another surprise.
    Thanks
    Mick

you will have to strip the drive shafts and machine some material off the shoulder of the splined shaft that the inner cv joint fits on. The 100mm cv joints are thicker than the 90mm joints

Could this be the case with early mk1 drive shafts or this would have to be done with late cabby drive shafts as well??? I have read somewhere that they are different .
