Welcome back Mr King. Good to see you're still into your mk1. Hope that means you won't sell it
Pictures please! Haven't seen any progress in ages
only just saw this!
so yes, I have been fairly lapse when it comes to the mk1 recently... after having my license suspended for the past 3 months its been a bit hard to get motivation together to do any work to the old girl (to say the least)
work has begun cleaning and painting the gearbox as well as starting to rub back (wet sand) and polish up the paint...
...i'll be getting my license back on the 3rd of June and am hoping to have the car all done and dusted and ready to go by then
photos to come

So finally it is time for a worthy update
As exams are fast approaching, it is no better time than now to get stuck into the mk1 and procrasti-get-****-done
Following my mate's sister coming back from a 12 month stint in the US, she brought back some long awaited goodies including new (stock) engine mounts, ECS slotted rotors, new OEM pads, tie rod ends, timing belt, master cylinder, HD unsprung clutch and a few other bits and pieces I was waiting on before I got balls deep in throwing in the 5 speed.
Anyway, pictures speaking a thousand words so I'll lay them on you
To get the ball rolling cleaned and masked up the box and mounts ready for paint
Next came the removal of the old box, and while it was out was a perfect time to throw in all the goodies whilst I literally waited for paint to dry
The box was looking pretty **** hot before too long
and sure enough it went in the next day once the paint had sufficiently hardened...
I don't have any bay shots (yet) but will take some soon enough, the wrinkle black of the box really ties the engine together well, super stoked with it.
After some adjustment of the linkages the 5 speed is an absolute dream, the car also stopped past my local exhaust shop for some massaging as the headers were knocking on the steering rack. All in all with the knocking gone and the new engine mounts in it is now possible to have a conversation in the car. Some sort of a luxury compared to how it used to be! I've also tucked an amp up in the dash above the glovebox that feeds a 4"x6" speaker that sits in the dash, running directly to an aux cord allowing me to pump some tunes in an inconspicuous yet ample manner.
A pair of 175/50/15 tyres are also on their way and will be fitted up to the rears as the 60 profile is silly tall and makes the ass end sit up in the sky
Anyway, super happy with how its all come together so far
