also, i'm currently running a 1.8 (RV) engine with the standard mk1 4 speed box - if anyone can shed some light on which clutch I should be getting (1.8 RV runs a 210mm clutch whereas the 4speed box originally had a 190mm clutch) would be greatly appreciated!
and yes a 5 speed conversion is hopefully happening very soon!
From what I understand, all 020s use the same bell housing casting, so you just have to match the clutch to the flywheel. Although don't just take my word for it. My car is running a 1.8 adz, which usually have a 210mm clutch, with a mk1 4 speed, but I don't know what size clutch it has in it at the moment.

You could always search the part number printed on the flywheel if you can be bothered separating the gearbox from the motor

Just match your clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel to the gearbox you have. That's the easiest as they all bolt to the standard 4 cylinder crank.
There are heaps of variations on what you can/can't use, but save that discussion for the 5 speed conversion.
