i've finally gotten the main rust cut out

and the engine bay is almost to that sexy shaved state i'm after

i've off-loaded all my wheels and am now left with only one set :D being these oz turbos i picked up, new pair of 2" lips (will be 15x7 and 15x8) and i've started the tedious task of polishing all the bolts (and stripping the paint off them)

You weren't joking when you said it was written off - that's a big hit in the rear. Did the other driver just decide not to use their brakes and use the Golf to stop their car ploughing into oncoming traffic?

Glad to hear you're ok and still working on the Golf. That rust repair looks like a serious job and those wheels are awesome.
