MKI....#14....lost count.
The Mk1 has no subframe, so you need to fabricate one and stra\engthen the chassis to put the VR6 in. It will bolt straight into any Mk2, 3 or Seat, so thats easier. Why not do the 20vT conversion? How much do you wanna sell the motor for? The VR6 wont bolt to you gearbox, and you`ll need a hydraulic clutch. Phew. Its been done, but only by professionals and it took them ages.

its not that crazy a conversion. but it does require a fair amount of fabrication. Its something that im toying with doing as i have a spare low km VR6 engine now. Would need a gearbox tho.
Altho if u look thru the images. There might be some steering rack clearance issues on a right hand drive car.
um im lookinh to sell the 20v turbo for round 3000.. my dads a mechanic and we were planning to buy a whole front cut of the vr6... any more mods that we would come across with the vr6 converion??
i got 14.2 down the quater with it.. and its still 8v with mechanical injection..
Nice...pm sent about 1.8t
Hi mate, have a look at www.vwcaddy.com as there is a few very good write up's on fitting a VR6 into a caddy/MK1.
