I will post some pics, give me a day or two.
Don't expect anything special with the pics. The original car is only a shell on wheels, no doors, hatch, bonnet, interior and (of course) sunroof.
The doors, hatch, dashboard and engine\gearbox (correct EG engine code) are stored in the garage. The interior, bumpers and wheels are fitted to the "spares" car. Stuff like the GTI window rubbers and other spares are stored in the car as well.
The car is need of a total nut and bolt resto. However it is a genuine early MK1 GTI with the 1600\4speed\big bumper combo which i believe is rare anyway. It's diamond silver which i've also been told is rare in GTI's.
here 16v kid this is what it looks like having a GTI stripped.......

Some pics. One of car before it was dismantled, one of the car where i found it, and an engine bay pic.
Nice work mate! She was a real paddock find... Im suprised being down Geelong way our resident burnout champion Golfworx hadnt eyed it off.
Be good to get it together and running![]()

Wow, when I saw that pic of it in the bush it made me feel sad, but I am really glad you have it now and are making the effort to restore it mate. I hope it's not too far gone, It would be great to have one more GTI back on the roads.
But rest assured that if you ever want to sell I'm sure many people would take it off your hands![]()
