Talking MK1 section is not pulling its weight

Just looked at the stats for the board. And I am not happy. The MK5 whiners have 38,244 posts. While us awesome MK1 owners have only 19,811.
Now MK1s have been around for 30 odd years, while the MK5 has been round for almost 10 minutes. How in the world do they have so much to whine about? I mean we have drive shafts falling off every set of lights, carby problems, almost no brakes and a host of other quirks that we all know and love.
But a MK5 is a soulless thing made to never break or evoke negative emotion while stuck on the side of the road waiting for your mate with tools an more MK1 parts to get you home. So how do they have so much to talk about? I can only conclude that they are whining about things that a MK1 owner will never know - like how the dual zone climate control is something that their supermodel wife just cant understand. Or how the Pirrelli P Zeros they just got really are as good as they thought they were going to be.
We are almost 20,000 posts down but I believe we can make up the difference.
I think we need to right this wrong!

Yep MK1 drivers put up with a lot more, or do without, or are in the shed working on their cars. I can't conceive of all the gadgets on modern cars...
PS - yours is possibly post of the week

Quality is better than quantity, Sure the Mk5 dudes have more posts but do they drive a classic car? I think not!.

Dude your post has made my night! I feel like transferring a link to the Mk5 section just to see if they get out the ban/infraction stick on me again! GOLD!

Oh.. And yeah you're right. I can't post anything though cause my Mk1 is heartless and stationary..

I can't post too much as my golf is one of those seemingly rare things, a reliable daily driver with no real issues (touch wood, cross fingers and all that). Though I could do things to it given time and space (I have neither).

We can't complain about our GPS, A/C not working, traction control, heated seats, if we should have got a polo gti instead or that new wrx etc.

We all know our mk1's a squeeky, dashes are cracked, floors are rusty, window rubbers are now rock hard, have no power steering or a/c etc. so we just get on with it and love the damn things no matter all their faults and we all dream that if we could just get that 16v in and the project finished we could all go upset the mk5 guys any day of the week, maybe not the Polo guys though
