Mk1 rear wiper Fitment (retro) ???

Guys, Got a mk1 hatch that doesn’t have a rear wiper, I just got a factory rear wiper set up (thanks Matt) but have no idea how they are fitted or where to position the arm on the hatch and the cutting to fit motor in the hatch door!

Would really appreciate any photos, measurements and details on fitting the rear wiper to a mk1 hatch!

    Thanks

Stand by. I have just what you're after but it will take a moment to scan and upload the images.

Ok. These have to be big images so that you can print them out OK and still be able to read them. I wouldn't usually post images this large. Apologies moderators but the occasion calls for it.

The first 2 are the actual stick on templates that ship with a MK I retro-fit wiper kit.

The following 4 images are the manual itself.

You should be able to scale the templates using the dimensions printed on them and make your own.

The first template for the holes on the outside of the boot is 350mm x 230mm although it was a bit big to fit in the scanner. The vertical distance between the 36mm hole (The boot lock) and the 10mm hole (the washer nozzle) is 105mm.

The original size of the second template for inside the boot is 207mm x 88mm.
Reading German would probably be an advantage here!

I'm looking for bits to complete a rear wiper setup myself if anyone has any bits lying around.

Basically I need the arm, the switch, every nut, bolt, washer and all the squirty bits!

But at least I know how to bolt it in!
