    Sorry to say dude.

    Its not all that rare!

Just a Scirocco 16V handbrake cable.

Available at any good international European parts place.

Autohauz AZ have them for approx. $19US each

You can still order them from the factory too, at any VW Parts dept. at a cost though. Something like $70 each!

What! I was looking for it for a while and was just about to make a custom one made up at cost of $200.... Ah well I guess I was looking in wrong places.
By the way Tim do you know where I can buy 280 mm brake adapters for the front I am pretty sure you have it on yours?

    Tim beat me to it.

Sorry to say it but they're pretty easy to come by. GSF and GAP both stock them.

    GermanAutoParts.com

GSF | Cheap Discount Car Parts | Euro German Japanese | VW BMW Audi Ford Peugeot

What is rare to find is the Scirocco 16v brake proportioning valves.

    Thats all good.

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask before you go off buy stuff! I've learn't that the hard way like alot of VW people living in OZ!

I had my 280mm adapters custom made off an old RA Designs template. I don't know if they are still in business though, as there website doesn't load.

My brother brought a heap of items off them along time ago (over 10+ years) & we asked the owner at the time nicely if he could send me a copy of the template, which wasn't quite exact!

So I had to modify it & then had a local lazer cutting place cut them out.

Wasn't cheap back then, but they do the job.

Doesn't hurt to ask a brake conversion mob for there design/template, but don't be put off if they say "NO".

As its there design & they had to put in the hard yards & time into it & most likely won't just give it all away for nothing.

Just like I had to to make them right & won't do the same thing for the same reason

16 V proportioning valves are available thru www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de they have done another production run, altho at 101.15 Euro each they may as well be gold.

Looking at doing a run on 280 Adaptors also as one of the lads here needs a set...
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...

    Forgot all about that Pete!

You can still buy them new from a dealer ex germany, but they are bloody expensive!

You also have to get the right valves with the right number stamped on them too. #15 I think

    15 is for discs
    35? is for drums.

They are completely different & if you use the ones for drums on disc's you'll end up with lock up's. Just like I did, as it allows too much fluid to pass through to the rear calipers!

Just found a pic of them! # 15 is was!

That's good to know, I've got one set left here but for those sorts of prices I'd be using a pair of lever type Wilwood valves.

I'd be running something alittle more substantial than counter sunk bolts for brake calipers!

At least with the old school ones, they use your original bolts & use High tensile longer bolts & spacers
