    Update!
    So ive got some good bits and pieces from our friendly neighborhood Notso Swift! can not thank him enough!
    I present my new motor, good old adz block but can anyone confirm the head as a mk2 gti? Has a solid cam and 4 injector ports in the head.
    The cam also has 1mm less lift than the one in my fn 1.6, not sure what the go is with that..

    Bottom end seems in good nick, still has fresh hone marks and all, so it's looking promising

    if anyone has a cam theyd like to sell, throw a comment or pm this way

    Head was 40mm inlet and 33mm exhaust valves if that helps any one

    I've got a solid lifter, big duration cam for sale.

    Might be a bit lairy for the street though.

    post up the cylinder head part number mate, its cast in above #1 spark plug hole. Early head prob from EV engine code .

    Remember you will need the longer timing belt, and front flange to water pump hose ( from 2. slow engine )

    Are you going with injection or carb induction ?
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

    If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Will do once im home.

    It will be running a carb, not efi.
    Any reason why id need a longer belt? I was led to believe that the 1.8 and 1.6 are the same dimentions

    About the same as mine for sale, and not a road cam at all!
