A month before we got married I bought a 2nd hand MK1 for my wife-to-be and had her out in the rain grinding brake calipers to get Gemini mag wheels to fit.

That's when I knew she was a keeper.

Has two broken locks, the rear left door doesnt open, but managed to get it open by removing the door card, but the problem is the hatch door. Any way to open it from inside?

From inside you need to take off the plastic panel at the bottom of the hatch to get to the release mechanism.

Is that carpet on the dash?

Yeah its carpet in the dash, needs a clean but it's in good nick

hey there, just some more progress today

got most of the interior out, headliner and ragtop and also the ragtop

has a few cracks at the edges of the ragtop nothing we can fix though
also pulled out a broken door lock

have also realised that most of the electricals dont work but ill just cross that bridge when i get there

just getting the car ready and treating all the rust before i spray it with high fill and get it ready for paint!

also didnt manage to get the boot open, cant find any plastic trip hiding any mechanism or anything
