    MK1 Raceland Header HELP!

Hey guys i have a question to ask and maybe someone knows the answer.
Im looking to buy the Raceland Mk1 8v headers for my 78' GLS 1.6l and wasn't sure whether they fit on RHD models. If they don't does anyone else know of some other places that i can source headers from. Preferably something with bigger than stock primaries cause i want to get a Holley carb on it through the Redline manifold and a fat 276 cam for a boss idle.

Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks

There's some extractors on Gumtree to suit a MK1. Not sure if the 50mm outlet is big enough for what you want though.

For your application, 2" will be plenty. My system is a 1 3/4" stainless (crush bent) and it holds up superbly with my 1.6 on twin dellortos and a catcam 280.

I'm using a 4-2-1 header and it does shift the powerband down, making it much nicer for street driving.

4-1 headers will yield the latest top-end gains. Ashley makes some real nice headers and a bunch of people on here are using them.

To answer the original question, probably best to ask raceland themselves if they will fit on rhd. They don't have the best reputation in regards to quality however.

    Good luck

Yeah I think i might buy those 4-2-1 headers from that place in Sydney, the lower end torque would be nice cause the 276 would make it a bit **** down low anyway.

Yeah i asked Raceland and they told me they havnt R&D'ed on RHD so yeah ill stick to an Aussie supplier.

P.S. would love some twin Dellorto's

Well I have the manifold when you want!
Honestly I cannot see how there would be much difference LHD/RHD, the brake linkages will be well clear, and the rack is pretty clear, maybe they are worried about melting boots?
I do think the local 4-2-1 would be better, BTW, I just can't see the problem with RHD

I just spent a full day modifying a set of supersprint headers that were supposed to be RHD.

The pipes were pressing hard into the steering boot. I had to cut them off at the flange, shorten them by 1cm , re-angle and re-weld them. PITA!
