    time for an update...

Exhaust now goes all the way to where i now have to start on the header.
I have been busy making hangers and trying to get cuts to line up as best as possible in the 3 inch tube. My Mate Conor is an excellent welder and said he will go over the whole exhaust for me, purge it and weld it up so we get a good look. Very happy about that!!

Tunnel still a work in progress but 80% finished.
lots of time rolling around like a dog under the caddy but its all going to be worth it is what i keep telling myself.

will be replacing the whole top half of the fire wall with sheet metal should be interesting process have to make up some patterns and get stuck into it next. Also looking at making a brace underneath to tie together/ brace and strengthen the tunnel once driveshaft and exhaust are more permanently fitted.

Got a chance to day to kick of the next stage slowly working forwards to the engine bay side of things woo hoo

Forgot to show this earlier, As i have now cut out alot of the firewall Its a brace i temporarily welded in.
Without it their is not much to stop the 2 front halves of the car from peeling out! lol Until i get the new sheet in and bracing happening that is.

Laser is out again... this time lining up a smooth line to cut out this firewall section so that i can run the sheet metal on
a similar angle to the origin section i have cut out.

Bit more progress this weekend by taking the engine out and leaving the front part of the drive shaft sitting in place on a jig as if it were connected to the gearbox.
With it sitting securely in place a few brackets later and the steering rack is back in with 20mm clearance all round.
Got to say i am a bit envious of Forge Motorsports nice clean shell :pic: its really the only way to start.
might have to look at dipping the caddy soon for an early x mas present and then forge the credit card statement to show it cost 180 in stead

taken to writing on the shell

foot pedal, pressing down on this seemed so far away until recently

got some more progress shots of the firewall which i have decided to push back about 40mm.
The tube you see will also form the top corner of the firewall as it curves over and back.
And a pic of an early x mas present.

Bit of work around the engine bay to add some strength and give me something to reference to for the new
strut towers. Also i can set the steering wheel permanently and such, and work on placing the foot pedals.
I think i will get distracted by setting the wheel base and working on the strut towers....
so many jobs that can be done all at once now I need a hit list.

looove Fein so much German quality

got the main strut walls lined up and tacked of with a couple of braces on the top
    to just hold it together.

I paid for a new tailshaft to be made and with a stronger centre bearing.
    installing shortly

Also a bit more happening in the engine bay with new mounts under construction...

    things are heating up,
bit of spray from tin can paint to keep any surface rust away and
more bracing and boxing to come.
