Hi Mate you can have a customised track width with an ICV.
I have widened the track width 40mm but it could be widened again now.
Widening it by increasing the length of the Lower Control arms means having longer tie rods on the steering side of things,
which works out good for reducing bump steer.
If the Tie rods on the steering rack are short then the angles they work at become more aggressive as the hubs turn in.
reducing the track width is going to have an effect on steering geometry that might be difficult to solve properly.
They take Bump Steer pretty seriously as its an important safety issue.
Its also important that the rims that are used work to the same offset rules of the VSB.
this way the rims will not risk the integrity of the hubs and how they were designed to be used.
so widening the track width beyond the VSB standard by using greater offset wheels is still not
acceptable.
It would not make sense to reduce the already relative narrow track width on a mk1.
You get a lot of gain in performance from widening it
Also a wider track width means meaty wheel guards and thats goat be good
The Engineer doing this project has Himself run a pretty big workshop that turned out a serious number of
Street, Custom, Drag cars the list goes on. So having an engineer that has actually built vehicles himself for a living
is better than having one that is purposing his career towards certifying mods like engine swaps.
