Nice project! What sort of $ did the ECU tweaks run for you?
I have an R32 ECU (+engine, keys and instruments) here for my mk2 but was pondering standalone ECU as I hadn't realised that there were people here that could work on them.
What did you have done? Was it just immobiliser removal?
Have had the silent treatment from UM since before Christmas, so not keen to ship to the UK.
Hi Mate contact Julian Jones ph 0405808488
IMO removal on MK5 R32 ECU he can take care of any ecu.
he recently did one of the 1.4 twin charged engines as well
so he's doing all the new stuff which others seem to have trouble with
after its done you won't need keys and instruments etc just plug it in and fire it up![]()
soooooo good ha ha I'm so relieved to have it sorted!
yea posting to the UK cost me my first ecu the damn fool would not even email me a backup of my ecu so it could be put
back to OEM…. United Motorsport's basically took my money and ran...

I am having the tails haft shortened and balanced for the second time after having moved the engine further back in the bay.
The guy is a veteran of motorsport and will probably die still building hot rods. His workshop is FULL of early 1900,s memorabilia on every spare piece of wall.
Was pretty nice to be in their looking at a big Chev V8 Supercharged engine sitting over Jag suspension.
was the kind of workshop you would see on build threads.
Got in some replacement mounts for each end of the shaft as the existing ones were severely cracked with age and use.
Also have found someone who can machine and spline new x4 driveshafts to suit the new track width.
