expanding on what Golfworx said, even stale PULP could be an issue, esp if the car has been sitting for a while..

    Thanks everyone.
It starts easily when cold so I don't think it's cold start valve problem. I have a feeling it's dirty fuel or moisture in fuel cos I notice moisture in oil filler cap recently. Since I bought the car on April 2007 i only filled it up with PULP once. How easy/hard to drain the fuel tank ?
I have no special cis tools and I'm tempted to order one like this http://www.jcwhitney.com/FUEL-INJECT...3510_10101.jcw Anyone in Sydney has one that I can borrow

    brief hijack

all this talk leads me to conclude somehting - anyone remember the jetta of doom? aka "cursed jetta" which loon sold to Rednut and then he sold it back a while later?

It had a great many niggling annoying problems, and i'll bet that it was down to Rednut running regular ULP in it... i know he hated to pay high price for fuel.

I know ULP is no good, I mentioned I only filled up PULP once, which mean I've never filled anything else cos the car has been sitting in garage and it hasn't finished that fill up yet
