The globe you're after has a P45t base.

Narva still make 'em and you can get halogen versions.

JUst found a Narva box in the garage.

    Markings on the box are

    12V 100/90W
    P45t-41
    44392
    48904

    Barcode number is
    4 013790 325082

That should be enough info for you to order some in.

I already have relays on the high beam lights (the inside ones in a gti grille)
pete - I tried the barcode number and the part numbers in my system @ work and they come up saying it is a 90/100W h4 Bulb.
    Thanks anyway,

Doesnt much matter now i've decided im just going to try and convert it to an h4 globe. I've put a post up in WTB regarding it.

    Thanks

I just investigated this on my golf, and I'm running P45t globes 45/40W - Pete, your saying the lamps are rated to cope with 90/100W? I've done the relay mod already.

Did you find an adaptor Rach? If not these look the go.

Here is some more info Rach. The globes that Pete suggested are H4, but, are using the P45T-41 base so will fit your lamps. The modern H4 globe uses the newer P43T-38 base your referring to. The H4 is referring to the shape of the bulb and the filament number (and I believe Halogen filled) and the old incandescent are R2.

Heck the more I google the more I learn.

Here are the P45T to P43T base adaptors you were talking about Rach on eBay.

This deserves a listing in the FAQ haha.
