    Mk1 or Mk2

Im reworking where im at and owning a mk1 golf is great but getting parts for her is getting hard. im looking at scotsmans golf 2 gti with the 2L as an alternate and ive driven it and she goes pretty good and sounds awesome too. But i still love the character of the old 76 golf. Just want some thoughts on what the others would do in this situation

1976 golf mk1 LS 1.6 with bulletproof engine but with panel work needed to be done

    VS

1991 golf gti (GL) 2.0 seat engine with what seems no rust but also 4K, which means i can't keep both (wish i could)

any heads up would be great.

Mk2 is not as old and all engine and mechanical parts are newer and cheaper / easier to get.

Most Mk2 stuff can be interchanged with Mk3, so that makes parts more viable than a Mk1.

Mks is a mode solid drive for a daily than a Mk1.

The Scotsmans car is a good un. The Seat GTI engine is the same as a Golf 3 and is bulletproof.
