Was looking for something else and found this interesting article that went into some detail on the continued manufacture of MK1 Golfs in South Africa and the models that were made up until 2009.

For those MK1 enthusiasts out there, the important thing to note is that since manufacturing ended only relatively recently, that many parts can be sourced easily and actually quite cheaply. This includes rubber seals, engine parts, doors, bonnets and even body cuts without rust!

Yeah mate 1992 model..apparently there is a MK1 meet this saturday in archerfield at 2pm - might head along
