    Unhappy Mk1 help

    Hey guys,
So i pulled up the carpet in my mk1 to replace it and the whole boot area is covered in black bitumen paint, yay!
Anyone got any idea of how to get it off the easiest way possible?

Dry ice, hammer and a chisel should do the trick!

Thanks but i don't think it's the deadener, It's sticky black gooey paint basically. But they've only put it in the boot, the rest of the cars fine.

Sounds like its just underseal/body deadener/bitchumen or something similar.

I'd say flapper disc or wire brush. Going to have to get dirty either way i think.

Just in case anyone runs into the same problem down the track - eucalyptus oil works really well. Takes it off eeeasy.
