    MK1 has gone

This afternoon the new tasmanian owner collected the swallowtail. Since buying the car for a bargain price it has had a new engine, clutch, rebuilt carbie, new wheels and tyres + coupleof switches and bulbs to name a few.

Been great fun although I fear once you have owned a GTI other cars pale in comparison. The 1600 petrol once the timing was done revved like a good un. Typically once the car was sorted it was time for a change.

Would I own another mk1? I'd still ike a Cabrio just maybe not this year...
