Early GTI's didn't have the plastic bar's sorry.
They had small black steel bar's.
They also didn't have a body kit.
Just wheel arch trim's & a duckbill spoiler with a few sticker's & also blacked out steel side trim.

K jet, black roof lining ect. ect.
This is no GTI so its a waste of time checking the engine code.
Find out about the bumpers though, I want 1st dibs on the front one thanks!! :):bowdown:
Correct about the kit and plastic bumpers etc. I have enough trouble explaining that not all GTI's had twin lights and alloys. Single lights and 13 x5.5" steel rim standard on mine....and more than its share of rust!!
actuallly the headling is black , and part of one side of the dash has the red trim across the front dash ? just have to verify the complience plate and and get this matter sorted hahaha:) and the seats and colour of the fabric look the biz , but the plate will tell the story .....
Sorry, 76, Aust built i would say.
Should be evidence of steering column blanking plug, cable holes on the passengers side of the car for it to have been a left converted to right driver.

But everyone is right about that pile of earlly bumpers...
