yeah pretty happy with the tv footage bits and was really unexpectant as there were heaps of other exotic cars out there (105 cars in total). To be featured 5 times was awesome, someone on the production crew must have been a closet golf fan i think as we got heaps more footage than the porsche who beat us. The margin was a little disappointing in the end but we accumulated 9min of penalties for speeding which pretty much kept us out of a close fight for 1st. Oh well heron head is almost ready with an even bigger cam so should see some more power again until the 16v breaks cover. I also heard about the magazine cover hey, they have asked me to write a build article for the magazine.

Yeah someone did a write up in the magazine too - he's the Chief Scrutineer, Shane, apparently. It should be available online later in the month for non-members (once the Oct edition is published)

Great work volksee. I had been following your tarmac tread and was excited to see targa west on tv. Unfortunately I only caught the last 15min of the program. I was on the edge of my seat hanging out to see the Mk1 footage but only saw it at the end taking a left hand corner in true Mk1 style but with the event standings plasted over the screen.

anyways Great job and well done!!! you make us VW drivers even more proud.

look forward to seeing more dub competition action.

I remember reading somewhere that the homologated mk1 ran the 1600cc 16v in France some time ago... I assume you've got those papers.
Dom's got a workshop manual in french for the oettinger 16s motor.

Yeah Waterboys dad Bruce used to race a mk1 1600 16v hence my question as obviously an 1800 KR doesn't really comply.

it certainly does if you run in C3 under the homologation rulings in the cam manual of motorsport, just have to be prepared to mix it with porsche 911 carrera RS's
