Mk1 Golf/Rabbit Centre Caps

Hey guys,

I reccently grabbed some chrome centre caps off good old ebay that I've been told are off a Mk1 Golf/Rabbit. I'm planning on retro fitting these to my Mk3. Does any one have a set of these already or have any information on them? I'm finding it hard to figure out how these things were fitted from factory.

They have 2 holes on both the top and bottom of each centre cap and they have definately been used in the past. I'm thinking there is some kind of clip?? that was/needs to be in here to hold them on. Any help is greatly appreciated

held on by clips fastened to the wheels.Holes are for a tool to remove them .

Does any one happen to have a picture of a wheel with the clips attached? I've seen similar setups on kombis and beetles. Starting to think cable ties will be a great idea haha.
