After looking at the specs of the yellow one it might well be worth the effort to tidy it up.
Big plus is its a 2 door and has late motor.bilstein suspension etc.alloy wheels.
Bit of work hurt no one
nothin wrong with a 4 door though old chap that 2 door has been well abused by the looks of things and i get the feeling worm doesnt wanna do a massive clean up...

Yeah, spot on.... the yellow one sounds better than it is. The suspension is actually quite soft... and everything on it is hand made. The sway bars, torsion bars, short shifter, some box that sits on the carby that connects to the air filter (and its cable tied on!), bonnet strap is a seatbelt, rear seats have been out of the car to save weight .. I could go on. looks dodgey. Needs a new headgasket... cv joints are stuffed... and there is ALOT of electrical wires everywhere and some stuff doesnt work at all... Would much rather start from the ground up.... at least I know whats been done.. and its been done properly.... also the 4 door has NO rust where as the yellow one has rust that needs attention ASAP or its off to the scrap heap... and he wants $1,500 WITHOUT RWC.. and it has like 3 months rego...
No way!
If you want to start from the groud up, I have a rust free 2 door for sale . Considering it's completely dismantled, you'd be starting from the ground up . And best of all it's a real GTi. Then again a complete rebuild and respray might not be your cup of tea .
