    mk1 gld

hey guys ive just recently liked the classic vw mk1 scene, so i purchased a mk1 GLD rolling shell.
ive been looking into converting it to petrol, at the same time i want to leave it originally diese! ive been surfing the net and its very difficult to find a mk1 1.5l dielsel engine that is in good nik so i found a VW GOLF MK3 TURBO DIESEL TDI ENGINE and was wondering if its as simple as just dumping the engine block straight in without to may modifications. yes im aware of any engine mounts that would need modifying due to what speed the gearbox is and including linkages. if i do preform this conversion would i need to get it engineered?
if anyone could help me i would appreciate it thanks

not that easy, the TDI needs an ECU or you will have to build a mechanical pump to run it. Where did you find a mk3 TDI engine for sale?

How much are you looking for the 1.6td motor?
And what condition is it in

That Mk3 on Gumtree has the computer, loom, turbo-charger, intercooler, etc. Depending on your mechanical skills, it'll go straight in! (Pretty much!)

I don't know about the sparkie. I think it might actually be a fairly in depth install, due to the ECU & loom.

(as opposed to a AAZ 1.9TD which would be simpler due to the mechanical pump)
