So.... I ended up buying a set of the Autotech bars for my project racecar.

Looks like they only have limited amounts of the brackets, they're website has changed since I ordered the kits and I didn't get the inner brackets for the front. Got everything else though.

    Autotech Sport Tuning: Swaybars

Light weight means lighter race car and less postage , they're only about 10kg.

Front is 25mm and rear is 28mm.

Front bar uses stock mounts and I was able to get a kit with nearly all of the brackets new.

Rear bar uses stock mounts on the beam and custom mounts on the shock tower.

The mounts with the bolt replace the bottom shock mounting bolt.

Are the mounts for the end of the rear sway bar installed horizontally? If so it must handle a massive force trying to snap it off the bolt head. Doesn't look strong enough to handle it but hey, what does a Govt worker know about high tension mounts.

    Yep, they mount horizontally.

There's been no reported issues with that setup that I've been able to find, but I might have to change that arangement anyway because of some other suspension mods I'm planning on.

I ran the Autotech setup for a couple of years on my blue Mk1 - it's very good. The rear mounting system is perhaps the best one available (in terms of swaybar performance) because it has the largest coverage of the semi-trailing arms. It's also far and away the easiest to install. The problem, though, is that you're left with very little clearance for a rear muffler, meaning the lefthand mount hits the muffler under full travel/flex.

You can get around it by installing a round muffler in most cases, but I'm sure Pete has this under control.

I run the KW bars now, which are very nicely made. I developed my own adjustable mount for the rear beam, which works really well (even if I do say so myself!) - I need to get some pics of a lot of this stuff at some stage, as it can save a lot of R&D for others

So why are you wasting time typing? It's not too late and there's nothing on the TV. Grab your camera and take a few photos.

    Your adoring public await.
