Besides, there are definitely more things the 2- and 4-door Golfs have in common than not. I think if you own a mk1 Golf that's very cool regardless of the size of the cutouts it has in its chassis to accommodate the differently sized doors/windows

Personally I prefer 4 doors, but that could be because my 2 door as too many holes in it. In saying that 4 doors are a lot easier to work on in the rear.
It's all a matter of sexyness.
Guys with 2 door MK1's are sexier than guys with 4 door MK1's who are sexier than MK2 owners.
