MK1 Engine Conversions

Very simple question but im very new the the VW scene..

Im in need of some information about some conversions. I will be buying my first MK1 golf next week as a daily, but might be getting a second cheap MK1 as a bit of a resto/project.
Just need to know how hard is a conversion to either the mk1/2 gti engine or even a mk3 vr6 (I know its a bit of a mission from carby - fuel injected). Also what are the difficulty of finding them engines.

carb to FI wont be your biggest problem trying to put a VR6 in a mk 1.

I'm not even going to go into any detail in this repsonse. This topic has been convered many times in various threads in the mk 1 section.

Please take your time to search and look through the mk 1 and resto sections of the forum.

there is a heap of really good info in there, and will answer all the questions you have.
