i think they are the things you mean scraper seals. i need em too
Hi there,
Been a while since I posted. Still slowly fixing up my wife's Mk1. After all your advice last year to fix the fuel tank problem I finally got it sorted, so now I'm tackling basic comfort things and other little bit's & pieces.
I want to replace the seals that sit between the door and the winding side windows. The ones that, when perished, mean that the doors fill up with water running down the window glass. Do these seals have a name? e.g. like 'bailey channels'? Worst case scenario I read a suggestion to go check out clark rubber, but thought I'd check here first. If I can get a name it might make searching easier. So far my attempts have only lead me to discover what bailey channels are.
Cheers.

Scraper Seals - cool. Thanks.
Just be aware that there are 2 types of channels, with and without the moulding groove.
Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...
If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??
Cheers,

The moulding groove is for the chrome strips
If you don't mind getting rid of the chrome you can always take the scraper seals from the inside and put them on the outside of the opposite door
Usually the ones on the inside are in good condition making this a viable option if you hit the wreckers..
.. actually I think I have some 4 door ones stashed at my folks house if you're interested?
