Yikes!
I think that was the tyres :\
I recon we could throw in 500kgs and it'd ride great. only problem would be the clutch...
Yikes!

so we fixed that problem...
Random springs, pedders struts (found among my Skyline spares) some taper lock sleeves, and a bit of ingenuity... we have height and we have ride comfort... hopefully...
Current rear height with sponsor mock up
It might be safer to weld a tube that just fits inside the spring, on the bottom spring mount. Something about 60mm high which would make sure the spring doesn't slide off the mount. Do the same for the top of the spring and it will never fall off no matter how rough the roads are.

Hard to see on that pic, but we're using the original spring mounts, top and bottom, and they fit really well aside from the tail of the coil at the bottom of the spring... it's fully capsulated at full droop, which is 50+mm from weight bearing and settled, we have welded a small tab to lock in the bottom coil on the factory spring mount.
Looking good, big fella. You'll have to get it wheel aligned, now! Haha.

yep, it'll be sorted when the bigger tyres go on, it won't go far until then.
*sigh* this is why I never try to leave the old man unsupervised... he busted our other rear shock, so back to square one on the rears after 3 days of mucking around, at least someone has been kind enough to donate me some new rear struts that we can mod, AGAIN.
Trying to sort fronts now, there was more oil in the upright than in the shock of our original sets... can anyone help out with inserts? There isn't much in the country from new.
I might have some gabriels, I'll have a look tonight.
