Thanks. I have gotten a few compliments on it. One guy in the car next to me even asked me about it when we were stopped at the lights.
So far it seems that it's avoided many of the problems common with MK1s like so many have spoken about in the 'You know you drive a MK1 when...' thread.

Well I've still got the same MK1 as a daily driver. Been super reliable though the motor could probably do with some love.
I added mine to the list, but Matt may have already counted for it, haha.

i have a 78 mk1 golf needs a bit of tlc but i love it but the wife wants it gone so its now for sale :frown:
