a friend of mine painted his mk1 matt black with red wheels and gti arches trying to make it look like the 911 rs, didn't look good in my opinion

Hmm. Thanks for the input guys. I think it could be difficult to achieve something like this on a Mk1 thats looks right so I think I will have to do a lot of planning if I am going to follow through with it. I think we've established that if I was going have a colour scheme or some sort of livery it should be in keeping with the blocky style of the Mk1. I'll try and create some designs on the Mk1 soon in Photoshop and then post them up here to get people's opinions.

why not try for vw motorsport colours and stick with a vw heritage theme of white/grey/blue? At the end of the day go with something you like hey as you will be the one living with it.
