This is cool man. Keep going!
Ok Its Raining, I'm bored, so might as well start a thread for the Caddy.
Well It came from... you guessed it, Tas.
Although originally bought into Aus by a New South Walesman.
It ended up in Tas and halfway through dentistry it got stuck and remained an unfinished adventure for some time.
Recently the Adventure gathered some pace again with 3 weeks solid work over xmas holiday i realised these mk1's
almost have a way of making you feel like a slave. That feeling was short lived as it was not long before the Caddy was packed
and we were booting it to catch the ferry home.
The Caddy came with a 9A 16v not running at the time but after we finished it packed a punch.
I was reaaaaly surprised at how the caddy managed to stick to the road like glue and overtake traffic all the way to Devenport.
that was with so much gear in the back the rear suspension was nearly ridding on the bump stops!
Also having the long range fuel tank would have added to the weight.
I can officially say that i drove from Hobart to Sydney on neeeearly one tank of fuel
As it stands 3/13
Back to the begining so after being delivered via tow truck this is how it started...
yea their chains as it had no working brakes we chained the wheels to the struts incase
their was ever an accident with the wheel chocks.
Dec/12
After a big clean up and sort out a pallet arrived with my gear from Sydney
and the fun began although a few days later the heat was sweltering so i broke the days up with trips rock jumping
with family
had to re do the steering conversion and brake conversions, I'm happy with the fitment now
and so was the engineer later on.
Found out that if you cut a mk4 down pipe etc in just the right places you can rearrange it to
fit a mk1 including Cat and O2 sensor... later on after getting back home
i used the heat shield from another Cat to shield the down pipe on the mk1 from the steering boot etc

so I'm going to be painting it hopefully in next couple of weeks.
took it out of the for sale section, I'm hoping to get some enjoyment out of it
for at least a year or 2.
just waiting on engineer to send me certificate and then get it registered,
and i can then strip it for paint. Paint then ride , Yew!
Sold my 05 Caddy to daily this so its time to get into the tray lid.
I used mk1 bonnet hinges to have the tray sitting flush at the front but lifting clear as it goes up.
Need to put some seals and get a lock on it.
Been heaps of fun driving a 16v, boy i need to update with some fresh photos or something.
happened across a 20vt so taking her of the road for a bit shortly!
that being said i have this complete set up of a 9A 16v engine for sale with some other goodies! see for sale thread in for sale section!
how hard is it to install into a mk2?
Hi mate pretty straight forward.
sent you a PM with a revised price as you would most likely
use your gearbox
