    Mk1 brake booster.

Hey guys, when i put the 16v motor into my car, i noticed the distributer was in the way of the brake booster, i removed it but now i cant put it back.
is there a way i can shift it more to the right or do i need to relocate it completely?

Im not the most technically gifted guy around, so any help would be much appreciated...

Did you move the dissy or the master cylinder (I assume you mean this, not the booster as that doesn't get in the way)? It's not actually clear which one you're having trouble reinstalling!

Sometimes the dissy is hard to put back in as the o-ring is a very tight fit in the cylinder head.

The best solution to your clearance problem is a 90deg dissy cap. There are a few variations here, though, depending on which master cylinder you're using. In most cases, a Bosch 03.041 is the best solution, though there are Saab variants that suit too. Best take a photo of your application as there are so many different master cylinder/brake line configurations.

Its the master cylinder, when i was putting the motor in, the dizzy knocked against it, so removed the booster and left the dizzy on.
Now is there a way of shifting the booster to the right, or does it need to be relocated?

Ah, I just noticed that you are in Botswana.

You could use one like this.

You have to make a timing adjustment because the 90degree cap slows the spark down or "port the cap to remove the short turn" (Preen)

Jeez, Port the cap??? lol, i had a look at your build @Preen, awesome stuff man!
I figured im gonna move the booster to the right abit, instead of buying a new dizzy.
Im getting there, almost done with the ride just a few things left.
What radiater do you have in your 16v?

Porting the cap was a joke I made on Facebook. Haha.

    Thanks dude.

You only need to fit a new cap. Not a complete new dizzy dude.

You'll need different lead ends, same lead ends as on the 8v. An auto elec should be able to do that for you..

man buy the 90 degree cap, relocating the booster is much much more work and if you are a little technically novice this will be so much harder (and dangerous if you don't do it properly) and also you'll have to drill more holes in your nice car, not worth the hassle mate.
