No idea. I've never seen an early golf at any of the NSW club/state hillclimbs. This was the aussies so I'd say he's travelled from interstate for it.
edit: hang on no I've seen Leigh Parkers red mk 2? 1.8T at a couple of hillclimbs but not any NA ones. Sounded unreal.

yes thats me i dont get on the forms much and only just noticed this post
ive been competing in QLD hillclimbs and sprints over the last few years and couldnt miss the opertunity to run at Bathurst for the AHC

i broke the class record by 2 full seconds on my first timed run and end of day 1 was the first 2 ltr na car to get into the 50 second bracket
i got pipped by a very quick MK1 escort who was the hot favourite on the last run on sunday so ended up second in class and 40th outright!
