Oh sure you could get it a bit cheaper than 4 grand if you had a very basic kit & used some second hand components etc.
But if I were to do it, I'd be using all brand new components (valves, compressors, tanks etc) and proper lines (3/8"s atleast) If you just wanted to have it sit low when it's stationary, it could be cheaper, but playing with airride is just to much fun to only have it as a 'static' stance! 
It's all the small fittings and things that end up bringing the total up.

these kits could save alot of that hassle. would cost a bomb in shipping but atleast you could source a tank locally.
