MK1 aftermarket seat rail options?

my hatred of the mk1 seating position is getting to me and i need to get it down!!

i know some of you are running seats with a more common twin rail design. what did you do to mount it to the floor?

i've seen some fairly extreme options
such as:

there is then no adjustment at all so not too keen on that.

i guess the only option is to weld in some brackets to mount the 2 rails to.

what have you done??
