Mk1 5 Speed Home Made Mounts

There appear to be more 5 speed gearboxes kicking around than there are mounts for em.

With a view to resolving this problem, I got Aydan (GLDGTI) to convert some of my 4 speed mounts into 5 speed ones.

This is what he came up with. Hes pretty handy with a welder.

The only improvements we will make on the next set is to make the bolt holes a little bigger to allow for movement and the extra bit of steel welded onto the underside is a bit big. They have proved strong enough so far though and Aydan is prepared to make more if people want them.

Good onyamate. Hope this helps someone else out there Dave

Loon gave me one of these mounts and apart from the colour they will work perfectly on a 5 speed conversion.

Think I might need something similar here....
My 5 speed had a fabricated bracket that picked up the down-pipe, now with the extractors - no mount point. Any chance of some Pics Matt?
