Mk1's are for the real men, who don't need all that bloody electronic stuff and so on. It'a little bit more work to drive as a modern car but you can feel your car in every second and this is awesome. Anyway, don't hesitate to buy one it will be worth every penny.

    Cheers

    ohh what can i say?
fun to drive, smells like an old car, goes better than a new one (when its not running lean )
simplicity to work on, and the sound of a 45mm weber less than an inch off your firewall
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life

Funny you shoudl say that, I always have reckoned a MK1 has a distinct smell, like overcooked engine oil, with heat overload, ????/

Anyway my young lad got in the first time the other day and said "Dad this smells like your red golf you had back in the UK".....

That's about the long and short of it mate.....

I do behave more reckless without her in the car, I think it is called damage limitation.

Its known as the original Hot Hatch, unique styling put 3 modified mk1s side by side and there all different, modifications are endless never have to worry about resale value cause if you sell it your crazy!!!! owning a mk1 for a while now get plenty of respect from all sorts, also though in a 2.0 16v and see if you can keep it in you lane
