good point

to access the jets on the DGV carb, you need to remove the air filter, and then the top cover of the carb. this also removed the float, so should be sone carefully. in the base of the flaot chamber are the 2 main jets, and the idle jet is screwed into the back of the float chamber - you dont need to remove to top cover to get out the idle jet, you can remove it using a stubby screwdriver from the firewall side of the carb.

when i was running the DGV, i was using a .5 idle jet.

I didn't want to start pulling aprt the carb for two reasons a) they're tempremental buggers and b) it worked fine before the extractors went on.

so what I ended up doing was ripping off the extractors, bolting them upto the old exhaust manifold, got out my grinder and went at it, trying to make the extractors fit the profile of the old exhaust manifold, and so far so good.

well it didn't work straight away, cause the carb was tuned way out, and was pretty difficult to retune with the extractors on (a real lack of back pressure is becoming apparent I think) but I got that sorted. My only real issue, is that with no choke setup at all, it does make it very difficult to start! it used to be alright, but yea, I donno, we'll wait and see after I get my exhaust made, and I'll put some new plugs in and try and do the timing (how's that done??) and then I'll give it a real go at tuning it, if I suck at that, I'll take it somewhere/to someone i thnik..
