Might of been a factory option i know british campain golf gtis come factory with a sunroof a better quaitly one where it folds back into the cabin looks alot cleaner, that sunroof looks aftermarket to me they way its setup.

Factory sunroofs are metal and wind into the roof.

All MK1s and MK2s factory sunroofs were steel and made by Golde.
Don't know about Sciroccos as they were not made by Volkswagen.
It would be easy to tell as there would be a VW logo on the glass.
