Where did you get those mate, might have to me some, one has a bit of rust and not sure if repairing it will be enough to stop it for ever...

Glad to see some encouragement, its a little sad and demotivating to see all the things that are still left to do, feels like endless task but i cant abanden another project :) Will be very happy when its finally registered and take it for the first cruise.
Oh and 4motion, what are you asking for? The black stuff?
D: I didn't buy any panels, just some 2mm steel, some welding wire and paint haha
Because roughly all up for $1000 I can get all those panels delivered to my door from the UK. Because found the panel like you repaired(but driver side) has a pretty nasty rust spot right in that corner against the firewall. And it'll be a bit difficult to try and get in there with a welder.
May I ask what wire thickness you used for welding there because my wire I have is to thick for the low amps I need. It basically just heats the wire and then shrivels into a little ball?

$1000 for what? Haha sorry im just having troubles understanding what 'panels' you are referring to. The only bit i have repaired in this picture was the huge hole that enters the cabin and a small area that sits between the strut tower and firewall. As for wire gauge, i started off with .9 but it went down to .8 after the roll finished. Seems to weld abit nicer. Are you using a MIG?
Hair was getting in my eyes with the welding mask on, bloods bandana to the rescue.

Me and and a housemate got working on the inside, Going to be pretty easy although im having thoughts that a previous owner of this car has welded or fibreglassed in a new passenger floor. RUUUUUUSSST. Can't do much with her this week as we have someone repairing the garage wall this week along with a house inspection. Also gotta find me a job again..

The panel you did the rust work on between the strut tower and firewall. It looks like you installed a new one in there thats why I am asking. Because I can get both sides shipped to me for $1k and just have to weld them in. Mine on the driver side has a very nasty rust section where the steering rack goes thru up against the firewall. But all g, got it sorted.

Clear indicators, GTI lip, new key barrel, was suppose to get both door handle seals but only one came, and the wiper stalk was all cracked when i opened it up, also got the indicator stalk to. The washer motor will be for the small Daihatsu bottle i got that will be mounted on the drivers side guard. Mounts already made just going to wait until i get the drivers side all fixed up and looking like the passenger :)
On other notes, might be abit hard to explain without pictures but i believe a previous owner has welded a new sheet of metal on the passenger side than fiberglassed over it. They didn't do a very good job because rust has already taken over.. Now is it a good idea to just cut the whole floor out and weld a new plate in? Or will this be disrupting the structure of the car to much, as in welds being weak etc. Would like to just buy a floor pan from the UK but postage for panels are a killer.. Thanks for any input can upload some pictures tomorrow.
We have finished the floor swap in Antons 76 Mk1,
Previous owner had patched fibreglass on the left side of the floor, inner fenders, bulkhead and numerous other areas of the body then filled with copious amounts of filler.
Christmas last year the decision was made to save the car and swap a donor floor in, the donor roof still to go once the inner guards are back to being structurally sound.
Old floor cut out, inner sills repaired and phosphated.

Found a donor 83 4 door to chop up ( only thing 4 doors are good for !! ) Cut the floor out along with other panels needed. Sent to the caustic tank to be stripped of gunk and prep for welding in.

Floor has been fully welded in, car re positioned on stands and started on the front inner guard area. On digging out the plastic/ glassfibre and removing a ton of dynamat ( more crap that holds moisture ) we discovered that the left end of the bulkhead was barely connected to the inner guard, no wonder this car felt like it had a hinge in the middle on the track....

If you go the whole floor replacement make sure you leave the doors intact to keep the shell rigid till the floor is attached.
Good luck man
